主旨:The 11th Japan-Taiwan Joint Workshop for Young Scholars in Applied Mathematics (Online Conference)

內容:The Japan-Taiwan Joint Workshop for Young Scholars in Applied Mathematics has been held ten times by the colleagues from Japan and Taiwan. This series of conferences provide young scholars from Japan and Taiwan with opportunities to present their work and academic exchanges, and may result in new international cooperation in the future. During the past years, the number of participating young speakers, including undergraduate, master/PhD students, and postdoctoral researchers, has grown from about 20 to 40-55. The last conference was held at Ryukoku University in Japan in 2019. Due to the pandemic of COVID-19, the conference in 2020 was cancelled. In 2021, the conference will be held online, which is co-organized by Japan and Taiwan. The topics are comprehensive, including Differential Equations, Geometrical Analysis, Scientific Computing, Interdisciplinary Studies, Data Science, etc. This online meeting may provide an excellent platform for young scholars to enhance their research and friendship.

主旨:Workshop on Geometric Evolution Equations and Related fields

內容:The focus of the workshop is on geometric evolution equations, function theory, and related elliptic and parabolic equations. Geometric flows have been used to solve a variety of geometric, topological, analytical and physical problems. The main idea in geometric flows is to evolve some form of curvature by diffusive (heat type) equations such as the mean, inverse mean, Gauss, and Willmore flows of submanifolds, the Ricci, Kähler-Ricci, and Calabi flows of manifolds, the Yang-Mills and Hermitian-Einstein flows of connections and metrics on vector bundles, and the Yamabe and other conformal flows of metrics. Each of these flows seeks to evolve the corresponding geometric structures to canonical geometric structures. Geometric flows have numerous relations with other areas of mathematics and science. Mean curvature flow, which is the gradient flow for the area functional, and its variants are related to material science. Gauss curvature flow has been used to model the wearing of stones and other objects. Inverse mean curvature has been applied to solve fundamental problems in general relativity, such as the Penrose inequality. Ricci flow has been applied to solve the Poincare and Geometrization Conjectures. The Kähler-Ricci and Hermitian-Einstein flows have deep applications to algebraic geometry. In this workshop, we will mainly focus on the following geometric evolution equations and related topics: Kähler Ricci flow, line bundle mean curvature flow, mean curvature flow, Sasaki-Ricci flow, inverse Monge-Ampere flow, harmonic map heat flows, network flow and elastic flow.

主旨:2021 Conference on Advanced Topics and Auto Tuning in High-Performance Scientific Computing

內容:The Conference on Advanced Topics and Auto Tuning in High-Performance Scientific Computing focuses on the scientific impacts due to the latest computer architectures and the approaches to achieve high-performance computing on these leading-edge computers. Advances in many-core architectures and high-end computers have unveiled their significances in the scientific discoveries and engineering achievements. The complexity of these newly developed computers, however, also leads to contemporary challenges to achieve the best efficiency of the highly promising computational capabilities. The conference encourages interdisciplinary communications between researchers from applied mathematics, statistics, computer science, physical sciences, engineering and industry to prompt innovations and breakthroughs in this exciting field. The main themes include, but not limited to, simulations, numerical methods, applications, hardware, and particularly software and algorithm auto-tuning via statistical methods.

內容:Since the advent of the computer and the birth of modern computational mathematics, numerical algebra has been the foundation of Computational Mathematics and one of the core components. It plays a pivotal role in scientific computation and plays an essential role. The numerical solution of its critical problems (including linear system, least square problem, and eigenvalue problem) have been widely used in scientific and engineering calculation and research. In recent years, with the significant and rapid development of data science and artificial intelligence, numerical algebra is at the crossroads of reshaping itself to adapt to the situation's rapid changes, and its initial core task still exists. To this end, since January 27, 2021, we have held four online workshops. We will continue to hold the 5th-8th issues, aiming to bring you a series of advanced lectures on numerical algebra and its latest machine learning and data science applications, and looking forward to your support and participation.

主旨:A truncated second main theorem for algebraic tori with moving targets and applications

內容:In this talk, we will establish a second main theorem for algebraic tori with moving targets with truncation to level 1. As the applications of this result, we will sketch the proof of the Green-Griffith-Lang conjecture for projective spaces with n+1 components in the context of moving targets of slow growth and then discuss the integrability of the ring of exponential polynomials in the ring of entire functions. This is a joint work with Chia-Liang Sun and Julie Wang.

主旨:Signed Mahonian on Parabolic Quotients of Colored Permutation Groups

內容:The enumeration of major index with sign over the symmetric group studied by Gessel and Simion yields a remarkable factorization formula, called signed Mahonian polynomial. Adin, Gessel and Roichman extended the polynomial to the signed permutation group, using the flag major index defined by Adin and Roichman. We study the generating polynomial of the flag major index with each one-dimensional character over the colored permutation group, the wreath product of a cyclic group with the symmetric group. Using the insertion lemma of Han and Haglund–Loehr–Remmel and a signed extension established by Eu et al., we derive the signed Mahonian polynomial over the quotients of parabolic subgroups of the colored permutation group, for a variety of systems of coset representatives in terms of subsequence restrictions.
